The Anthologies

KEMET ANTHOLOGIES will serve as a vibrant canvas for storytelling, a space where creativity and diversity bloom. These standalone narratives, while bearing the KEMET insignia, are not bound by the continuity of the main tapestry. Each story in the Anthologies is a universe unto itself, offering a unique exploration of themes, characters, and worlds.

The KEMET UNIVERSE (KU) is a tapestry of narratives, a kaleidoscope of stories that reflect the diverse experiences and cultures of Africa and the world.

As mentioned, KEMET is more than just a cinematic universe; it's social cinema. We believe in the power of stories to connect people, to inspire change, and to disrupt the status quo. Our mission is to tell stories that are not only entertaining, but also socially relevant and impactful.

We aim to embrace uniqueness and authenticity, focusing on quality over quantity, creating strong marketing and branding, collaborating with talented individuals, and being willing to adapt and innovate.

Narrative Style

“KEMET is more than just a name. Or a brand. It's a call to action for creatives, for storytellers, and for anyone who believes in the power of stories and cinema.

The Main Anthologies

Our first batch of Anthologies will deal with both children and adult themes, from ancient legends to current events and afrofuturism. Some are directly set in the same universe as The Pillars, while others will either be completely standalone, or create their own pocket universe. They are as follows:

Set many cycles after the events of The Ivory Sun, in the Kingdom of Suunet-Tra, on the brink of twilight and at the crossroads of the four winds of Aswad's holy mountain, the White Serpent, sacred beast of tales ancestral, is revealed to the most reckless of adventurers. Anyone who does not successfully respond to his twelve requests before the end of the lunar cycle will not return alive; but to those who do, riches and glory await at the top. Five travelers, each with their own agenda, unexpectedly meet at the foot of the mountain, and decide to climb it together.

Rubicon

In the heart of West Africa, a digital nomad retreat promises Nathaniel and Kate, two American tourists, a fresh start away from the fraying edges of their relationship. Isolated in a remote cabin, cut off from the world they knew, the group faces not just the creeping terror of a global pandemic but the internal tempests of fear, and betrayal. As the veneer of society crumbles, Nathaniel, Kate, and their companions confront the raw contours of human nature and the duality of their existence as they are thrust into the forefront of an age-old battle for survival, challenging the limits of their will and the strength of their bonds.

'Rubicon' delves deep into the abyss of a zombie apocalypse, offering a lens not just on survival, but on what it means to live, love, and lead in a world where every sunrise might be your last. It's a narrative that captures the indomitable human spirit, the complexities of relationships under strain, and the choices that define us at the end of the world.

The kaleidoscope is the symbol for KEMET. It is the keystone of our vision for a more inclusive and creative film industry in Africa.
